Description
Bare Wood. The surface should be clean and dry, sandpapered and dusted off. Apply a first coat of SUPERWIND LUCIDA onto bare wood, highly diluted up to 50-70% (depending on wood absorption) in order to allow the varnish to sink into the wood substrate. As a clear primer alternative, one coat of POLIGLASS two-component varnish diluted 50-100% (depending on wood absorption) with Thinner 203 can be applied; care should be taken in order to maintain the grain of the wood open so to enable the application of subsequent coats of varnish. Overcoat with further3-4 coats of SUPERWIND LUCIDA to build up adequate thickness, allowing the required waiting time between coats. Finally apply 1-2 coats of SUPERWIND SATINATA in order to get a velvet satin finish.
Previously Varnished Wood. If the old paint is in poor conditions, loose or powdery, it should be mechanically removed. Clean the surface well and follow application directions as per bare wood.
If the old paint is in good condition of adhesion and it only needs a topcoat because it is dull or dirty but with the underneath coatings still well fixed to the substrate (with no cracks or bubbles), clean, degrease and sandpaper with medium-fine abrasive paper and apply 2-3 coats of SUPERWIND SATINATA varnish, allowing the required waiting time between coats.
